Informed by evidence from the MORI Household Survey, this programme aims to address the issue of over 50% of adult residents without qualifications, who identified a need for additional support to learn English.

In 2007 Aston Pride commissioned research into the English Language Learning Needs of Aston Pride residents. The research highlighted the diverse learning needs of residents and the need for a diverse range of English Language learning interventions.

As a result, Aston Pride is working in partnership with Birmingham City Council’s Adult Education Department to develop this programme, which will provide a broad menu of English Language learning opportunities for residents.
